Exercises for You

[formerly: The Game of THEE]

This section uses THEE frameworks to illuminate ideas and models popularized via journals, web blogs or in best-selling books.

Psychosocial reality, the field of THEE, is regularly described and re-described, discovered and re-discovered. But usually without a strong focus on coherence, comprehensiveness, or validation of the ideas or propositions offered.

In these exercises, a popular publication is taken and viewed from a taxonomic perspective. The first exercise is now out of date and has been removed. Only one exercise is currently available:

Harvard Business Review article: Seven Transformations of Leadership by D. Rooke & W.R. Torbert.

What in THEE-name of.......??!!??

Game of THEE

As you now know, THEE is the Taxonomy of Human Elements in Endeavour

Using THEE is an opportunity to allow ourselves to be aware of who & how we are—and of who & how others are.

You will have got a general idea from the many topics in this About section of the website..

While the About topics skirted THEE details, any Exercise in this section will plunge you into THEE to give you a feel for the approach. And you will have a chance to pit your brains against the experts as well.

Give it a go!

See how THEE stands up against prevailing ideas and views of leading academics, consultants, gurus, self-help masters, therapists, spiritual advisers. You buy books by these experts and give many of them 4 out of 5 stars or more—so they must have some value.

But can THEE supplement their offerings? Or expose flaws? Or perhaps simplify and reconcile differences? You can find out from the offerings examined here. The approach is like an «Ideas Sudoku», and you can play as well as anyone.

TRANSFORMING LEADERSHIP

This exercise allows you to pit your experience of organizational life against a report by Ivy League academics:

David Rooke and William R Torbert produced a hit Harvard Business Review article in 2005: 7 Transformations of Leadership.

In any Exercise, you can always click on THEE's review and conclusions immediately if you want. But they are not much fun on their own: the search is the adventure to be enjoyed.

Like it?

If you like THEE's challenge, tell us what popular book, article or even website you would like to put into play for: What in THEE-name of …?

Your favourite text might be a model or theory or secrets (can't they keep a secret?) about people, relationships, success, organizations, society. We will do a THEE-search and you will then read the text in a new light, and possibly understand it better.

Remember: Suggested texts have to be popular and easily accessible.
